Foundations for the Future
At St. Mark, students build essential career and life skills through our Foundations for the Future programming. Whether in preparation for a future career or something that may become a wellness hobby, students will gain a variety of knowledge and skills to be successful in all they choose to do now and in the future. Permeated throughout our variety of curriculum, we intentionally support the skills required in today's working culture and in preparation for skills not yet known in the future.
Foundations is a hands-on, exploration-based program for Grade 8 and 9 students designed to introduce a wide range of career-related skills, creative technologies, and essential workplace competencies. Rooted in St. Mark’s mission to help students imagine, create, transform, and celebrate their unique gifts, the program offers an engaging pathway for learners to extend their interests and skills beyond traditional academic classes. Through experiential learning, students discover potential career directions, develop practical abilities, and build confidence in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication and grow as they prepare for meaningful futures and celebrate their unique gifts.
